Working mom, handcrafting one-of-a-kind pearls
Before NiceOnU Studio, Julie was working a full-time job while raising a one-year-old and a three-year-old, with little time that belonged to her alone. Her designs come from a genuine love and appreciation for freshwater pearls themselves, and she specializes in irregular-shaped pearls and unique color combinations, embracing the natural individuality of each pearl rather than trying to make everything look perfectly matched, so many of her pieces end up one-of-a-kind because no two pearls are exactly alike.
Julie still gets excited when she finds a beautiful pearl or turns an idea in her head into a finished piece, and one of the things that motivates her most is knowing that every design reflects her own creativity and personal style rather than someone else's trend. What keeps her going on tough days, though, is hearing from customers directly: that a piece was worn for a wedding, given as a meaningful gift, or simply made someone feel more confident. Balancing a full-time career, two young children, and a growing handmade business is something she is still actively figuring out day to day, and she counts building a loyal customer base through all of it as one of the things she's most proud of.

People often ask Julie where the pearls come from, and the answer is always the same: her home country, China, since it produces an incredible range of freshwater pearls in different shapes, sizes, and colors. She loves telling customers that pearls are no longer just white and perfectly round; today they grow naturally into stars, hearts, teardrops, and other unique forms, and the surprise and appreciation on people's faces when they learn that makes each piece feel even more special to make. The designs celebrate the natural beauty and individuality of every pearl, just like the person wearing it.

I want people to feel that they're getting something truly unique and made with care. Every piece is handcrafted by me, and I put a lot of thought into selecting each pearl and creating each design. I hope my jewelry makes people feel confident, beautiful, and a little more connected to their own personal style.
